Hades 2 - Sign Up For a Playtest
The sequel to the Supergiant Games 2020 roguelike Hades will be released in 2019. It's an ambitious move that raises the stakes while offering a more insight into the politics of family.
Melinoe is back in an attempt to take down Chronos the titan of time. On her way, she will encounter new gods, including the personifications of light Apollo and the goddess of witchcraft Hecate as well as the god of revenge Nemesis.
1. Hades 2 Technical test
It's worth taking part in an in-depth test if you are an avid player of Supergiant and their Roguelike 2020 Hades. The studio has announced that its Early Access launch will be imminent, and a playtest with a smaller number of people than the full 1.0 version will allow them to eliminate any bugs.
The process of signing up is as easy as going to the game's Steam page, and then pressing the "request access" button. There are only a few spots available, though the majority of those who applies will be chosen. The test's technical component allows players to explore the first area in Hades 2 with early-game content characters, systems, and characters. Players who finish the area will be "gently encouraged" to put aside and wait for the Early Access Version, which should launch shortly.
The new game revolves around Melinoe's journey to the Underworld to save her family. She's accompanied by her aunt Hecate and the game promises to be a more thorough exploration of Greek mythology than the first. The sequel also includes more gods that are sexy to woo and a wider array of powers for her to use.
Hades 2 builds on the Roguelike gameplay of the previous and features a brand new protagonist and a wider selection of Greek gods to charm. Supergiant is aiming for the same blend of fast action and rich visuals that made its predecessor a Game of the Year contender when it first launched in 2021.
Participants who take part in the test for technical purposes will be able select different boons for each area, battle minibosses and enemies, and take on the boss of the area. They'll also be able select permanent upgrades and face the challenge of "God Mode."
Hades 2 will feature more levels, enemies, voiced characters, and key areas than the completed version of the original. Participants in the technical test won't be able to transfer their progress to the Early Access build. Supergiant plans to "reset the game from the start" once it reaches Early Access, so no save data from the playtest will be carried over.
2. Hades 2 Early Access
Hades 2 is officially in early access, and it's available to purchase on Steam and the Epic Games Store. If you decide to purchase the game will unlock both the early access version as well as the 1.0 full version when it launches, which Supergiant Games has confirmed will occur sometime in 2024.
The original Hades is an all-time classic. This sequel however, is a complete ripoff in every way. The roguelite offers more depth and satisfying combat than ever before. It's like a fully-realized game that is just waiting for a few final details to become an outstanding game.
Hades 2 is not only visually stunning, it also introduces new characters and features to the game that will make your experience more enjoyable and challenge you in ways you never imagined. In addition to the new gods shades, items, and gods that populate the Underworld there are a variety of items available to find and upgrade using Incantations. This system of permanent upgrades is present throughout every run. Melinoe can craft new spells and improve her Nocturnal Armor and Nocturnal Weapons. Melinoe can also gather items from the Crossroads Camp for future runs, and unlock weapons, boons and other tools.
Another welcome addition is the introduction of more open regions which provide a variety of different routes to take through each region, and an ever-changing setting to explore. Each region is a unique approach to the Underworld with some being more accessible than others, but all with unique challenges that stand out against the usual fare of other Roguelites.
Supergiant has also altered the gameplay in the early access build. This reduces some of the effort required to achieve certain upgrades, and makes it easier to move between areas. There's much work to be completed before the game can be released full release however, Supergiant has made it clear that it wants to make the most of player feedback and to continue to refine Hades 2 to a perfect state.
Supergiant has a reputation for listening to its fans and addressing any issues that come up, and that's evident in the way it's handled the early access release of Hades 2. It may be a while before the full version launches however, it's already worthy of a place on your gaming shelves alongside its predecessor.
3. Hades 2 Beta
Hades was a roguelike unlike the rest when it came out in 2018. The game has won numerous awards and is considered to be one of the best games ever created. With its deep story rooted in Greek mythology, stories of familial struggles, and LGBTQ+ representation that feels organic and inclusive, it was no wonder it resonated with a lot of people. So when demo zeus of hades announced that there was a sequel in the process, it was no surprise that the fans were thrilled.
Seven years after its first release, Hades 2 has finally been released to early access. Although it's not much changed mechanically, Supergiant's passion and dedication to Hades 2 are evident from the beginning.
According to the Steam page for Hades 2, "the game brings back all the elements that made it so unique in the first game: the isometric view, clearing rooms, selecting boons and launching powerful attacks and the Hub World, which includes a the presence of a fully voiced character to interact with and learn from, as well as the ever-shifting Underworld."
In addition to these new features, the test also adds a few new ones too. You can unlock permanent upgrades for Melinoe and a new weapon. You can also tame witchy companions, discover mysteries at the Arcana Altar and gather reagents to boost your skills.
But the most impressive addition is probably Omega attacks, which are a new way to power up your weapons and spells. By using these attacks you can boost your magick capacity and unleash devastating attacks with a huge area of effect. This is a novel way to add an additional dimension to the battle of combat.
Hades 2 beta is available both on Steam and Epic Games Store. The official release date for the full version of the game is still undetermined However, Supergiant has pledged to keep fans informed as they work towards a 1.0 release in 2024. In the meantime, you can make a wishlist for the game on both platforms to be alerted when it launches.
4. Hades 2 Release Date
After a successful test of technical aspects, the roguelike dungeon crawler Hades 2 has launched into early access on PC. The sequel from Supergiant Games follows Melinoe, the daughter of Zeus and Hades on a quest to destroy Chronos and free her father. Hades 2 promises all the great mechanics of its award-winning predecessor, with a re-imagined story that is rooted in Greek mythology and the emergence of witchcraft.
Those looking to get their hands on the game can do so via both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Those who purchase the early access version will be granted access to all future versions of the game. Hades 2 will be released in its entirety at the end of 2024.
The roguelike isn't scheduled to be released until 2022, however the early access version of the game has already sparked players to their attention. A livestream previewing the game's technical test in April revealed some of the details about the new characters and gameplay features.
In the stream, developers discussed plans to include additional characters, regions, and challenges over the next few months. They also discussed how they plan to make combat more enjoyable by introducing more skills based on skill.
Supergiant explained in the FAQ that the early-access version of Hades 2 will include "at least the same number of levels, enemies and voiced characters as the final version of Hades." It's important to note however that the team expects development to continue until 2024's close and a final 1.0 release could be several months away.
The trailer for Hades 2 features the Underworld Princess, Melinoe, fighting the cool witch Hecate. Supergiant claims that Melinoe's appearance and personality will resemble Zagreus even although the character isn't directly reimagining.
